Welcome to HVGWs Midsummer page! Midsummer or Litha is a time of high energy and excitement as the beginning of summer at the Summer Solstice, when the days are at their longest. The light has reached its maximum power, and now begins the return of the dark. To celebrate, we will light the fire and sit at the festive table of Summer on a lovely Midsummer night. We will pass the sacred tea, perform a group spell for prosperity and love in the coming months, tell stories, make toasts and perform divinations for the future turnings of the wheel. You may bring poetry or readings for the table or musical offerings if you would like.
Please bring a chair and any beverages you would like to drink (please imbibe responsibly). You can also bring any poetry, stories or songs you would like to share that you connect to the Summer Solstice, as there will be time for that. We’ll have some food for grilling and a nice fire pit going until the evening wanes. Hopefully we’ll have good weather, and if not we will move activities indoors. We hope to see you there!
Hail and Wassail!
There will be alcohol present for those of age. BYOB is fine. We expect all attendees to monitor their intake and make responsible decisions.
Rides can be arranged. Please indicate on the RSVP if you are looking for a ride and where you want to be picked up.
If you have mobility issues please let us know on the RSVP and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
If weather proves too inclement we we will attempt to provide a sheltered space or may need to reschedule. Please check for notices on our website, email and Facebook pages.
