Welcome to our Beltane page!
Beltane mayhem is afoot!
This holiday marks the beginning of bright days, warmer weather and nature coming to life all around us. Days grow longer and nights grow warmer, enticing us back out under the sun and stars!
During the day, celebrate the traditions of Beltane with Hemlock Vales ADF druids in a family friendly ceremony. We'll have food, games, ritual and a Maypole dance for everyone!
But wait, there's more!
When dusk falls, the party begins! In England the custom of Maying began on Beltane morning when revelers would go abroad in the forests and meadows to gather the newly blooming flowers of the spring. We need to do our Maying at night, and we will! With many games, traditions and frolics of the season that will get you in the mood for the warm summer nights to come.
Our Beltane merriment will begin around HVGW's famous blacklight Maypole! You can dance the night away in the faerie circle or chill out in the lounge and partake in divinations for the coming summer, or simply hang out with like minded people.
Food will be provided by HVGW, but feel free to bring a dish to share! When the music is over, late night bonfire hangout will happen assuming the weather cooperates. This event is BYOB and there will be alcohol present at the night event, so please imbibe responsibly.
Some Important Notes:
There will be alcohol present for those of age. BYOB is fine. We expect all attendees to monitor their intake and make responsible decisions.
There will be plenty of parking, however if the main parking lot is too muddy we will direct cars to park at the nearby barn. Please stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the event.
Rides can be arranged. Please indicate on the RSVP if you are looking for a ride and where you want to be picked up.
Service animals only, please.
If you have mobility issues please let us know on the RSVP and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
If weather proves too inclement we will divert to an indoor event plant, and send notices on our website, email and Facebook pages.
Please RSVP HERE by Saturday April 25th
