Marzanna's Day: A Slavic Pagan Rite of Spring

Welcome to our Ostara page! Here we will have all the need-to-know information for our event.

Date: Saturday March 26th 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Program Notes:

5:00 to 6:00 - Gathering and craft time! We'll be making paper dolls and other fun things for your idle hands. Gathering and hangout time with appetizers and beverages available.

6:00 to 7:00 - Join Happy Valley Golden Wheel for a our celebration of spring! We will be honoring the ancient Slavic rite of Marzanna's Day with a modern interpretation of the story of Jarilo and Marzanna, the siblings of winter and spring. We will be doing magical crafts, a ritual play, and honoring the passing of winter into to spring! Join us for eggs, laughs, and good cheer!


7:00 - 9:00 - Fire, Feasting and Fun! We'll have some goulash and bread on hand to fill you up. Please let us know if you can bring a prepackaged store-bought potluck item to the feast - we are looking for side dishes, salads, appetizers and desserts.


  • Please note: If you have any symptoms of illness please do not attend. If you are unvaccinated, you are welcome to come but we do ask that you wear a mask indoors.

  • There will be alcohol present for those of age. BYOB is fine. We expect all attendees to monitor their intake and make responsible decisions.

  • Rides can be arranged. Please indicate on the RSVP if you are looking for a ride and where you want to be picked up.

  • Service animals only, please.

  • If you have mobility issues please let us know on the RSVP and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

  • If weather proves too inclement we will take our celebreation indoors.

Provide the following information with your RSVP: Names of those who will attend and what if anything you are bringing for the meal. Also indicate if you are looking for a ride and where you need to be picked up and dropped off.
